About Rock-and-Pop.com

We always anticipated that Rock-and-pop.com would be a community of like minded folks who gather to discuss, review, enjoy music from across the spectrum of popular music.

And so to it……

Now as with all pet projects they tend to be in a state near semi-permanent evolution and yeah the old chestnut about growing pains and bear with come to the fore.

Thus bear with us as we grow the thing in a beast which should cover all the angles, musical tastes, satisfying your hearts desire musically [your marriage is your own problem], whilst providing a platform for our users to (and not necessarily in order of preference or priority):

  1. New artist launchpad to present and sell music [via downloads]
  2. Biography and artist reference centre
  3. News, views and reviews on all popular music
  4. Research and reference point fluid with discussion and fact finding
  5. Industry News and views
  6. What’s On and worldwide gig guide, with venue management and event scheduling tools
  7. Platform for building a community of mutual interest in work and love of this wide ranging business called rock and pop.
  8. and much, much more….not least in accordance with what our members demand from us. Feel free to suggest

Now, I might just say, that some wag suggested that we might exploit one of these new fangled Content Management Systems, to build our version of the Ark and so we followed their suggestion.

After much flapping around we settled on something called Worldpress, which seems pretty effective and we are reliably informed, bloomin powerful, providing us with all the tools to get our world to where we are aiming.

Err, having said that, we are just getting to grips with how to use the thing and reckon that by 2022 we should have had the thing licked and even managed to alter the home page title!

Anywho, any suggestions from members about what services we should include in our portal, will be evaluated very earnestly by our team of conscientious volunteers, who will no doubt exploit them as their own ideas and suggestions [no not really].

Hang on whilst we get to grips with the basics and all should become very clear very soon.

Chuck
